Glued floors: These use an adhesive as a bonding agent between the substrate and the flooring material. Acrylic, neoprene, cementitious, or polyurethane/epoxy resin adhesives are used for installing all types of floor coverings.
Depending on the type and thickness of the flooring, a specific adhesive and notched trowel are used. Sometimes, with flexible or resilient flooring, a steel roller is used to compress the adhesive layer and ensure a firmer installation. Also, depending on the thickness and substrate type, the substrate may need to be prepared to achieve a level surface, which is accomplished using specific leveling compounds.
